A Bit of Downtime

Sat Jan 13, 2007, 3:10 PM

Oh, Lord.

Lately I haven't had any time to take pictures, much less update my deviantART page. It's not that I'm that busy, either. I am, but mostly my computer is being slow and it takes forever to work on my photos.

That being the case, I thought I'd draw attention to something only a few of you have seen: my photos from Italy in the Scraps section. There's some neat stuff in there, like portraits (gasp! I've never submitted any portraits to my actual gallery) and aerial shots. I hope to be putting up some NEW photos soon, but until then, enjoy.

Ok. You wanted me to do a painting and I did the next best thing: Photoshopped painting! Go! Go see the ice-climbers!

:iconchizniz:
Holy crap, it's dj-tempora! Long time no see, how have you been?

I know, I've taken lurker to an extreme point...to depths it has never known. But I still check my watch list every day, and when I see something I like I comment on it. :)

Your last deviation had a question in it. Meanings... in photos. Not always nessecary. Any photo has whatever meaning you give it. Each viewer will take something different away from it. All of the great photographers have taken at least a few photos without any deep philosophical meaning at least once or twice, I think it's part of what makes someone a great photographer, actually. It's not that your work requres any deeper meaning than what it is, photography is supposed to capture what you see, or a mood you want to create, like any art. Taking photos of things you find appealing, or interesting, or fascinating, or morbid, it's all part of how you view the world, part of what makes you unique. So don't question the meanings, love. Do what feels right, in front of, behind, or away from the lens.
